The Feens

North Yorkshire Based 4 piece indie outfit - The Feens are set to release their new single ‘Eyes Open’ on 9th September 2022 across all digital platforms via Radio impact/focus date is slated for 30th September with distribution by AWAL.  ‘Eyes Open’ is the next single to be taken from their upcoming EP ‘Step Outside’ being released on September 30th 2022.

Bonded through friendship and love for guitar music, the band from the seaside features dual vocalists Freddie Schmuck & Adam Lodge, along with Sam Dowling and Perrie Bunton. Now firmly established as the guitar music torchbearers for North Yorkshire, the four-piece dubbed ‘the musical pride of Scarborough’ by Soccer AM’s Fenners have reached heights that were seemingly impossible to achieve during their infancy. After garnering support from local BBC Introducing DJ, Jericho Keys, Phil Taggart and new music exemplar Huw Stephens handed ‘What Are You Dreaming?’ plays on BBC R1, whilst John Kennedy and Felix White gave the track back-to-back spins on Radio X where it was play-listed and remained for 3 weeks. With a Tv sync secured through Channel 4's Made in Chelsea, the band supported Dublin’s Inhaler and embarked on their debut headline tour with a live performance on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM sandwiched in between.

Speaking of the new single, “Eyes open is the story of two lovers entangled in an unhealthy relationship. Whilst every basic instinct, experience and their brain is telling them to get out of it, their heart lures them both deeper together. Around them red flags are being waved, bumps in the road damage what they have. Yet through every warning, desire, passion and the heart continue to prevail over the mind and they return to one another time and time again.”

Their standout single ‘Sunset’ peaked at No.1 on the iTunes Chart and was backed by 6Music’s Steve Lamacq. The summer of 2021 saw them land a support slot with bonafide indie legends James, where they performed in front of a 6,000 strong hometown crowd at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre. They then went onto headline and sell out the 700 cap Scarborough Spa Ocean Room after performing at the Isle of Wight Festival. In March 2022, after the band’s debut live EP sold out on Blood Records, they joined The Clause on their UK tour before announcing that they are to support idols The Kooks at Bridlington Spa on 2nd September.
