Ste Walker
Lincolnshire’s steel-plated post-punk STE WALKER releases his new single ‘You Don’t Know Me’ featuring LLOYD HUBBARD on 2.6.23 across all digital platforms via Distro Kid. Radio impact/focus date is slated for 23rd June.
Originally from the mighty Middlesbrough, STE WALKER is a Lincoln-based snarler-songwriter with something to say. Having taught himself guitar as a teenager, it wasn't until the summer lockdown of 2021 that STE stumbled across his songwriting ability by accident. During this period of isolation, it was after a lengthy one-way conversation with a good friend that STE wrote his first song 'Leave Me Alone', and since that pivotal moment; the songs have come thick and fast.
Currently working towards his debut EP with in demand producer Tayte Nickols at Mad Fox Studio, Rochdale, STE WALKER’s unique brand of 'steel-plated post-punk’ features the assistance of one man band/guest musician LLOYD HUBBARD on bass, drums and guitar with STE WALKER channelling some angry guitar and equally venomous lyrics.
Of his new single STE said,“‘You Don't Know Me’, that song is a statement of intent, ‘You Don't Know Me’ flowed out of me in about twenty minutes. It is about standing your ground, taking no notice of negativity and being true to yourself. Its message is one of empowerment and anti-bullying.”
‘You Don’t Know Me’ was produced by Tayte Nikols (DANA LUNA, PRESIDENT ELECT, SUPERA MORZA) at Mad Fox Studios, Rochdale and was mastered by Rookery Mastering. ‘You Don’t Know Me’ features Ste Walker, voice and lead guitar and Lloyd Hubbard, drums, bass and guitar. When not writing and performing angry steel plated post punk bangers with a snarl in his voice, STE performs with his self-styled band TELEVISED MIND.
