Overpass

Forming in 2020, OVERPASS began their journey in the midst of national restrictions, releasing their debut single 'One Night Lover' in Autumn 2020. Within a year, they ended 2021 with four releases and a debut UK headline tour under their belt. Their strong melodies, crisp lead lines and youthful vocals have helped the band gain a presence on today’s live music scene.  Classic Indie influence can be heard from Britpop’s glory years from the likes of Elastica, Sleeper and Echobelly, merging with a more contemporary sound reminiscent of Inhaler or Sea Girls.   OVERPASS have built their dedicated fanbase upon a steady stream of praised support slots, playing alongside bands such as The Wombats, The Snuts, The Twang and The Lottery Winners. The band have garnered over 2M views across social media, making their singles highly anticipated releases. Tracks 'Stop the Clock' and 'Changes' have gained the band spots in Spotiy's 'Fresh Finds: Rock' and 'Hot New Bands' playlists, the latter receiving Radio X play. OVERPASS are set to support THE FRATELLIS, James and The Royston Club this year.

The start of 2022 has already seen OVERPASSwith two back to back sold-out headline shows at The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham. The band are now ready to take their sound to the next level, with their new single ‘On Your Own’. Speaking of the new single ‘On Your Own’, the band state “The song is all about leaving a person behind who is bad for you. You don’t want it to have to be that way but you end up realising it’s probably for the best on both sides. A song about letting go and breaking free of a toxic relationship be that friendships or partners.”

OVERPASS found their name through Max looking for a name in some songs, he really liked this tune called Across the Overpass by The Solids. He mentioned The Overpass in the WhatsApp chat and we all decided to ditch the ‘The’ from it and have one word cause we thought it flowed better. ‘On Your Own’ was Recorded at Vada, Produced by Matt Terry, Mixed by George Perks, Mastered by Hippy at Metropolis. Overpass are Max Newbold - Lead vocals, Guitar, India Armstrong - Bass, Joe Gallagher - Guitar and Elliot Rawlings - Drums.
