GHUM

Driving a post-punk ghost grunge sound from London, UK, GHUM was born after bassist, Marina MJ, posted an online ad looking to start a band. Each band member hails from different parts of the world – Spain, Malaysia, London and Brazil – all bonding over bands like Warpaint, Hole, Pixies, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins and Joy Division.

‘Some People’ is the lead single to be taken from their debut album ‘Bitter’ which is set for release later this year.  Speaking of the new single, the band states that, “This song is about getting to know someone and having the fear of hurting them because love has turned a bit hopeless and unexciting. Not trusting oneself to be able to love someone after not falling in love for a long time.”

Since forming, GHUM have built up an impressive live reputation playing across the UK and Europe, supporting bands such as Dream Wife and L.A. Witch as well as gaining regional and national radio support which includes airplay from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Radio X and more. The band has also received national print and digital press support from outlets such as The Observer New Review, Metro, The I Newspaper, The Fader, Dazed, The Line Of Best Fit, CLASH, Dork, MusicWeek + many more.
