FAT DADS

With an insta profile that proclaims, No Label, no backing, all FAT, clearly FD’s know the saying, ‘it does what it says on the tin’. With their grimly ironic northern sensibilities, world weary sense of humour and razor sharp sense of melodies FAD DADS hark to the formative glory years of indie mixed early 00’s Garage / Indie scene.

FAT DADS write catchy indie tunes with a DIY sensibility for fans of The Smiths, The Housemartins, WET LEG, and The Strokes.  FAT DADS have been making waves with their infectious tunes and unwavering DIY ethos. Their first four demos skyrocketed to acclaim, grabbing the attention of BBCR1 and Radio X through word of mouth alone. Lorded as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands by Indie music tastemakers ‘This Feeling’, physical copies of their debut EP sold out within 48 hours, with hand scrawled notes and accompanying DIY CDs posted fans across Europe and America.

FAT DADS 2023 started with a bang, as the first weekend in January saw the hashtag #FatDadsAFHF2023 started to trend on Twitter due to thousands of people wanting to see Fat Dads play at Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Away From Home Festival’ in 2023 Their fifth release ‘Girlfriend’ landed in  iTunes top 20 on release day.

Their first official Merchandise range broke numerous site records on release day, with orders being shipped to England, Scotland, Germany, Holland, France, USA (East & West Coast), and Canada  Fat Dads made their first festival appearance at Kendal Calling 2023 and played to a packed and overflowing tent (the largest crowd that the BBC Introducing tent had seen all weekend) of passionate fans, all singing the words back to them - a remarkable feat achieved entirely without industry contacts, PR, or management.  When this Carlisle band eventually release their debut album don’t be surprised if it’s called London 0 Carlisle 5
